Hanson Ho is the award winning Creative Director of Singapore based design studio H55, which he founded in 1999. Since then, Hanson has created numerous visual identities, brand applications, and publications which have represented Singapore on an international level. These include the visual identity design for the Singapore Pavilion at various Venice Biennales, the Singapore President’s Design Award 2008 / 2009 / 2010 / 2011, and the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize.

Featured by the Sunday Times as one of the top Graphic Designers in Singapore, Hanson has received recognition and awards from some of the most prestigious international design competitions for his works, including the British D&AD, New York Type Directors Club, New York One Show Design, Creative Circle Awards, Tokyo Type Directors Club, and the New York Art Directors Club.

Apart from the multiple roles which he plays at H55, Hanson is also curator for the Singapore Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) Art-in-Transit Programme for nine of the upcoming MRT Downtown Line Stations, and is managing editor for The Design Society Journal.

Design Asylum

Cara Ang began her career as a designer at Ogilvy & Mather and Bartle Bogle Hegarty. In 1999, she joined Asylum as senior designer and took on the role of Design Director in 2001. She has worked on multi-disciplinary projects such as the Sony Gallery in Shanghai, as well as environmental design for Fusionopolis at one-north, which incorporated technology, wit and humour in its signage system. Her portfolio includes environmental, interior and retail branding projects locally and internationally such as The Salad Shop, Johnnie Walker House in Shanghai, signage system for Rihan Heights in Abu Dhabi and interior design for apbcOffices in Kuala Lumpur. Cara’s works has gained recognition in local and international awards such as the Singapore Design Awards, Communications Arts, D&AD and The One Show. She was Head of Jury for Design at the Creative Circle Awards 2007.

MMelvyn is the Executive Creative Director of OgilvyOne Singapore whose clients are Unilever, Google, Nike, Levi's, Singtel and the Singapore Economic Development Board, to name a few.

His works have won accolades at effectiveness and creative award shows including The FWA, Cannes Lions, Clio, Effie, One Show, Spikes, Tomorrow Awards and the Webby of which he is also a permanent judge.

He contributes to the industry by speaking at various conferences and client workshops and most recently, he was a part of the Design Society Singapore where he curated the 100 Icons exhibition, a documentation of Singapore's modern design history.

Melvyn spends most of his time trawling the web for new technology, gadgets and music. His other life essential is the Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks cos there's always that one chance the world will face an apocalyptic zombie attack.

Creative Director,
A Beautiful Design

Beautiful is a design studio set up by creative director, Roy Poh. Nominated by Institute of Advertising Singapore as 15 most influential Creative Directors in Singapore for 4 years, many of his projects have garner international awards. His most recent win in 2012 includes a OneShow gold pencil, 2 D&AD in-books, a bronze cube at the Art Director’s Club and a bronze lion at Cannes. His work has also been featured in the Creative Review and Communication Arts Annuals and many other renowned industry periodicals.

Roy has also been invited to judge at both international and local awards shows like the D&AD, Cannes Lions Awards, YoungGuns Design & Advertising Awards and Spikes Asia Awards.

Together with other industry creative leaders, Roy co-founded The Design Society. A Singapore registered, non-profit organization dedicated to the goals of raising the general standard of design in Singapore, and growing its reach internationally. The focused on Applied Graphic Design and its contributions to Singapore visual culture and society in general. Seeking to inspire local designers and engage the public through greater understanding and appreciation for good design.

William is a multidisciplinary creative director and artist.

He is the co-founder of PHUNK, Asia’s leading Art & Design Collective and the founder of TMRRW, a multidisciplinary design & motion studio.

His works for clients like MTV, Nike, Levi’s and HBO have won him many international awards including Designer of the year at the President’s Design Awards, PromaxBDA World Gold Awards and Type Directors Club.

Besides working with some of the biggest brands to develop on-air branding and content, William’s work has also been exhibited around the world in cities like New York, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Taipei, Beijing and Shanghai. His work has been featured in numerous international books and magazines like Creative Review, Computer Arts, IdN and +81.

William often speaks and lecture at various creative conferences, like Herman Miller Presents A series of Lectures by Design Leaders (Hong Kong), +81 Creative Meeting Day (Tokyo), QBN Sessions (Getty Center, Los Angeles), OFFF (Valencia) and the Semi-Permanent Conference (Sydney).

Larry Peh

Larry had previously worked at Men’s Folio magazine and Design Asylum, co-founded Neighbor Studio in 2001 before setting up his own creative studio &Larry in 2005. Larry is also a founding member of The Design Society, a non-profit organization in Singapore. Larry’s design has been featured in numerous press and publications around the world and recent awards includes British Design and Art Direction 2012 (D&AD), The One Show (New York) 2012 and 40 under 40 2012 award by Hong Kong’s Perspective Magazine. He has been voted as a speaker at The Design Society Conference 2012 and invited to judge The Creative Circle Awards in 2005, The Crowbar awards in 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2011.

As a multi-disciplinary visual artist, Larry’s works are drawn from distinctly Singaporean origins and imbued with a cosmopolitan spirit. His sharply observed pieces possess a narrative quality that belies his roots in photography and graphic design, and invite the observer to partake of each confluence in form, function and social commentary.

Larry continues to split his time between his role as creative director of &Larry, founding member & Exco of The Design Society and planning for additions to his ongoing series of Objects.
